Laser-Based Radiation Evaluation,

QRT turns new possibilities into reality.

To overcome the high cost and limited access of heavy-ion accelerators,
QRT operates a femtosecond pulsed-laser platform (~200 fs) spanning 630–1700 nm.
We support both TPA and SPA modes and, with a nanometer-precision XYZ stage,
can place the beam on exact coordinates inside the die.
For SEE evaluations in space, aviation, and defense,
run them at QRT—reliably and efficiently.

Key Benefits

FLEXIBLE

A wide wavelength range enables evaluation from wide-bandgap devices (GaN, SiC) to conventional silicon.

FAST

The QRT-LITE software combines an intuitive GUI with auto-scan to boost test throughput and analysis quality.

COST-EFFECTIVE

Laser-based evaluation removes the high cost and long queues of accelerator tests—cutting per-test cost and accelerating R&D.

PRECISE ANALYSIS

Femtosecond pulses precisely emulate how space radiation perturbs semiconductor devices for high-fidelity SEE analysis.

EXPERTISE

Backed by 40+ years of semiconductor reliability testing and failure analysis, we deliver laser tests aligned to your mission.

Laser Services

Error Rate Analysis

SEE evaluation quantitatively reveals device sensitivity and radiation tolerance. We observe Single Event Upset (SEU) and Single Event Latch-up (SEL) under laser irradiation and derive the cross-section (σ). Using this, we estimate LETL (laser-equivalent LET) and predict the error rate for your actual space or radiation environment.

Sensitive Area Analysis

With a high-resolution XYZ stage and laser scanning, we irradiate precise on-die coordinates, localize SEE origins, and visualize sensitive regions within the circuit.

QRT-LITE (Laser Irradiation Tools for Evaluation)

QRT-LITE is QRT’s in-house, laser-based SEE (Single Event Effect) software platform. In a femtosecond laser test environment, it lets you control the entire flow—setup → run → acquisition → analysis—on a single screen. You can save and recall laser conditions (wavelength, energy, etc.) for reproducibility and consistency, and synchronously capture electrical responses by integrating oscilloscopes and source meters. By mapping chip images to coordinates, you can position the stage precisely at the desired spot. With scan scheduling, fully unattended automation is also possible. Together, these capabilities deliver fast, precise reliability verification for space/aviation semiconductors.

The QRT-LITE Manual walks through everything—installation, instrument integration, mapping/scan setup, automation features, and system setup—step by step.
